Things I wish to bring to awareness of public

Hello all, I am here with another happening in some companies which some people might be aware of and others might not. But I want the fresher’s who join the company and are never aware of these facts that are happening in some organizations.
Nowadays there are lot of graduates prefer to work in a private organization, for those people who choose these type of organization please be aware of things happening in the organization. I got this information from someone who posted this on the internet in a particular forum. I am just copying the information which I found in that site as such without changing anything.
"PLEASE FORGIVE ME FOR MY POOR ENGLISH.
Dear HR Managers, at first please accept my heartiest thanks and congratulations for sharing the most valuable knowledge with me. Really your conversations are too good to learn about management of business, life or family. I learnt very real and practical lessons from you. Thanks again.
I am a Speaker, Writer, Preacher, Graphic Designer, Content Writer, Typist and Stage Performer. I am working as a Host, Speaker, Motivator, Trainer as well as Computer Graphic Designer, Content writer from last about 8 years. I worked from private proprietorship firms to Pvt. Ltd. Firms. But found a bad management system where any one person or his/her lovely persons were everything. They are good, but in name, not in working. They said that they follow all the management system, but actually they follow their own system. They don’t bother about Labor Law, Tax and Customer Satisfaction etc. and make their own Laws. Even they don’t think about health and benefits of customer, who is called GOD by them, rather they always think about their benefits only.
I was so surprised to see all these things in the corporate world. In the mean time one of my friend offer me to join a national level Pvt. Ltd. Company. He praised about strong management system of the company. After 2 years of his try, I faith on his words and join that company.
But as usual, I got again a poor management system. I found myself in a Pvt. Ltd. Company where everything was private that means personal, nothing was official.
They appoint me after 2 years of checking of my work in the market. Company paid good package to me i.e. Rs. 16000/- p.m. (Rs. 8000/- p.m. to show to other employees and Rs. 8000/- p.m. direct from MD!!) (My MD said that his employee will de-motivate to know about so big package of a new employee.)
At the time of appointment MD said that they will give appointment letter after 6 months and promote me as business grow.
Now the problem starts. Company gave me one responsibility to create good promotional content and designs to grow the business. I tried as per my best. But there are two un-official people (lovely men of MD) who always condemn my designs and content. Both have nothing knowledge and experience about colors, graphics, printing and designing, but they always interfere in my job. If they found any design in better condition, they give me any new task with an order – “Leave all the jobs now, and do this as soon as possible.” And they also leave that job. The amazing factor is here when they talk me about that particular design after 30-40 days and blame me to not complete the job.
It is happening to me from last 9 months. I decided to leave the job and give my resignation to MD before 3 months. But he refused to accept the resignation and said me as the important part of his business family.
Once I had a physical problem, due to that I beg for 5 Sick Leaves, but MD said that there is no leave policy in his company. He said that there are only two holidays in a year in the company – Holi and Deewali!!! It was very amazing to me. At that time I asked about my Appointment Letter, then again he surprised me with these words - “We never give appointment letter to anybody. We are private company.”
Dear HR Managers, it is the only one part of my story that is related only with me. There are so many examples of bad managements in the company which are not related with me, but related with business.
Now I understand that I have nothing future in this company beside my salary. And I have another opportunity to work as a business manager with a new company. This new company is offering me a good job, where I can perform independently and can prove myself. The package is almost same.
Can you give me your suggestions and advice to take a good decision? Please help me. I will be very thankful to all of you."
This is one such example, but I had my own experience with one such company. During the time of interview the company agreed to pay the salary which I was expecting, but after a month and a half they called me for a meeting and then they say that they have not fixed the salary and currently they are only fixing Rs.15,000/- and they have no system of providing an offer letter to any employee. And after working for 2 months and 7 days they have not paid any salary to me, when I went and asked them they asked me what am i going to do with the money which I earn do I have to have that money to feed myself (The CEO of the company knew about my family background). Even the people who are really in need of money are not asking for salary and why are you asking for your salary.
This is no way to treat an employee and no way to run a company. If they are not able to satisfy the employee how are they going to satisfy the customers?
These are only few examples of what is happening out there. There might be other incidents which are occurring which might be worse than these. So, I would like people who read this to share some of their experience so that it can avoided by the fresher's who join new. We do not want them to face the same problem which we have faced.

There are few things which I request fresher's to look for when they join a company.

  • To ask for the offer letter before accepting the offer at the time of interview.
  • To make sure that they have mentioned everything which was spoken at the time of interview.
  • After joining make sure you sign the offer letter ( 2 copies) and give back one copy to the company.
  • After getting your offer letter ask for ID card and appointment letter.
  • Check more than once in your offer letter whether the salary they have mentioned is the same as what they agreed to pay you at the time of interview.
  • Make sure you sign only the offer letter and not any other paper. If they ask you to sign any bond paper make sure you read it carefully and fully understand the full agreement before signing. (Sometimes some clause would be mentioned in legal terms which might be understood by common man)
  • Make sure you report to your reporting authority.
  • Follow reports of what you do and have a copy of the work which you do are saved and stored properly. If necessary have a password lock to the drive.
  • Before leaving your workstation always lock your system ( by pressing ctrl+alt+del and then select lock) and then leave.

Hope these are helpful for the readers. If someone think of something which has not been mentioned please share as it might be useful for others.

How to face interview

This post is for people who are facing the interview tension.

It is common that people feel tensed up and bit nervous when facing interview the reason being for this is because we might not know how the interviewer will be or will look at us, or how pleasing they be. It is important that we must provide the best first impression.
When i say about the first impression there are few things which we must do before attending an interview which will help to create a good impression. The most importantly is how we dress ourselves for the interview. There are proper dress code for an interview and the dress should be clean and pressed properly (avoid wearing wrinkled clothes to interview). Try wearing formals to interview and formal shoes.

Be punctual or arrive 15 minutes to venue before the appointed interview time as this gives a good impression about yourself to the interviewer. Always have a fresh mints such as mentos or any type of mints before the interview as this prevents from bad odor while speaking (try not to eat mint during the interview this will definitely create a bad impression about you to the interviewer).

Be confident about yourself and never think about the language. I have seen few people (when I have interviewed people at work) who were afraid about their English Language during interview. There are ways in which people can improve their English Language. When you think abou the language it gives you more pressure than what you are already in. The language can be improved by reading newspaper, books, watching english movies and often communicating in english language with others. Please do not think that people will laugh at you when you speak broken english, it is the first step in learning a language. As the great saying goes "Mistake makes a man perfect". If you are not sure about how to give an answer try answering them with an example.

During the first round of interview, the interviewer looks how confident you are and how you present yourself. The questions asked during the first round of interview are icebreakers, for instance when the interviewer asks you to describe about yourself, it is to make you comfortable and feel at ease. These types of questions are generally asked everywhere.
During the second round of interview the interviewer asks you questions based on the position which you are applying for (This is generally practiced to access your knowledge about the position and the company for which you are applying for). Try reading about the company before attending the interview as this helps you to understand about the company and what they are into and who is their CEO, MD and etc. The final round of interview will be with the department head.
Usually there are two or three rounds of interviews at some places during the second round of interview you will be having the technical questions asked by the department head of the position for which you are applying for or it will be with another HR. During the final round of interview, your salary will be discussed and they will brief you about the roles and responsibilities about your position and other stuffs (because different organization performs or operates differently).

Thanks for reading the post and please feel free to give comments which will help others who are reading the post.
